Eagles vs Bulldogs...CIF Playoffs

The 6 seeded Ramona Bulldogs came to take on the 3 seeded Santa Fe Christian Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles received a first round bye in the CIF Division II playoffs, the Bulldogs had to beat Valhalla to get to this game. Senior Tyler Thornton got the start on the mound today and pitched very well recording 10 strikeouts and only allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. The Eagles were down 2-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning. Junior Cole Roberts came in started it off with a double. Junior Ian Coykendall drew a walk followed by a single by Junior Bryson Hashimoto to load the bases. Junior Stephen Pierson was hit by a pitch which scored Roberts from 3rd base. SFC was down 1 going into the top of the 7th with Pierson now on the mound. Pierson was able to get out of the inning only allowing 1 walk. Santa Fe Christian went into the bottom of the 7th and was able to get a base runner but was not able to score a run to force extra innings. The Bulldogs got revenge for their early season loss by the Eagles. They go on to face Francis Parker. The Eagles season is still alive and they host 7 seeded Sage Creek on Friday at 3:30pm.
