What a memorable weekend with the SFC Golf team in Palm Desert, building community and camaraderie! The journey began early on Saturday, with a van packed with golfers, AD Doug Miller, and Assistant AD Todd Derr headed off to the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort.

After a quick warm up in the perfect 75° weather, we teed off at the “Valley” golf course. The boys enjoyed a full day of friendly competition across scenic fairways. Post-round, the team cooled off at the pool before heading to Cowboy Cantina for dinner with parents. We filled up on chips, guac, steaks, BBQ, chicken & waffles, and ended the night celebrating Kyan Woolley’s birthday with cake and a sing-along, thanks to Mrs. Coley.

Sunday kicked off with breakfast and devos led by Doug Miller on gratitude—reminding us to be thankful not just for blessings, but for life’s challenges that help shape us.

Afterward, we teed on the “Palms” course. With temps rising to 90°, Mrs. Coley came through with boxed lunches at the turn. The boys finished strong, and even Doug and Todd had some highlight shots playing alongside Steve Coley and Chris Sturr.

We wrapped up and headed home around 3:00pm, arriving back to Solana Beach with grateful hearts and new memories. It was a special weekend, and we’re excited to build on it and make this an annual tradition!
