SFC’s Middle School Sports build a foundation for what’s to come in high school athletics. We strive to give all our middle school students grades 6th-8th grade a safe place to develop, enhance their skills, and grow into the athlete they aspire to be.

Registration
At the start of each season, the Athletics Department will send out an email announcing sport Registrations. No sports physicals are required.

For example, use the search feature “MS 6th Red Basketball” , “MS Girls Soccer Gold”, or “MS Boys GOLD Basketball” etc..
Games and practice dates can change. Please check this calendar regularly for up to date information, including early release times.
- No sports physicals required to play.
- Sports with the most registrations will have two mandatory evaluation days to determine skill set and team placement.
- Our coed golf program has transitioned from novice/instructional to competitive with a league schedule. During evaluations, evaluators are looking for students with the ability to play a 9-hole match against an opposing team without instruction. Qualifiers will have demonstrated basic game knowledge and skill set with no additional help. The team will comprise of 6-10 golfers, coed. If your student attends evaluations and does not make the team, they may choose to play a different sport.
- At this time, we do not have a girls flag football team. Our league will inform schools if this sport is added.
- Middle School sports do not practice or play games during any holiday break.
- Most on campus practices will be held early mornings before school starts.
- Kids are encouraged to play middle school sports in addition to their club sport as long as communication and a commitment plan is discussed with coaches.
- Sixth grade teams including volleyball, basketball, flag football and soccer practice during PE.
- Coed Swim practices are held at the Boys and Girls Club Solana beach (those practice days vary each season). Meets are held on weekends.
- Parents arrange all transportation.
- Team moms will notify teams of early release times that are set by Athletics.
- Most sports can expect a minimum of one practice and one game per week – those days vary per sport.
- Softball and Baseball equipment is provided, but it’s recommended each player has their own glove.
- All families will be billed a middle school sports fee 2-weeks post season start. These fees are posted on the Athletics Tile via MySchoolApp.
