Our SFC Lady Eagles Water Polo Team finished up the regular season this week with wins over two of its league opponents. The team hosted Mission Bay on Tuesday and came away with a hard fought win over Mission Bay by a score of 9-7. The team then travelled down to Mission Valley last night to play at division one, league foe Patrick Henry and came out on top 10-8.
In the Mission Bay game, Revere Schmidt led the scoring with four goals. Adding goals for SFC was Mylin Bennett (2), Torin Bennett (2) and Megan Clardy adding one. Clardy also won two sprints to set up the offense. Goalie Charlotte Adams made ten saves to seal the win for the Eagles.
The Eagles then travelled into a hostile environment and packed house on Patrick Henry's Senior Night and came away with a big win. The team was led in scoring by Revere Schmidt with five goals. Mylin Bennett and Kylie Kennard each scored two goals and Torin Bennett added one. Charlotte Adams was tremendous in goal, making ten saves against one of the best shooting teams in the San Diego section.
The Lady Eagles will now advance as one of the top seeds for the CIF playoffs. The first CIF game is expected to be on Saturday, February 12th at the La Jolla/Coggan Aquatic Center.
