SFC’s own Abby (19’) and Kate (21’) Phillips will be reunited on the volleyball court this Fall as they are set to begin their first season competing together at Liberty University.
A standout multisport athlete at SFC, Abby was a 4-year letter winner and a 3x CIF Champion in volleyball, while also holding 3 school records in track and field. Abby began her freshman year at Liberty University in the Fall of 2019 where she has also been a two sport athlete competing in volleyball and track and field, all while being named to the academic honor roll.
Kate was also a standout multisport athlete while at SFC where she led the volleyball program to two CIF Championships, served as team captain and was a member of the National Honor Society. Kate will look to have an immediate impact this Fall for the LU volleyball program as she is set to begin her freshman year.
The Phillips’ sisters have proven to be an integral part of building team culture and chemistry as LU emerges as one of the top programs in the ASUN Conference. Head coach Trevor Johnson is excited about the future of the volleyball program as he has secured nationally ranked recruiting classes over the past several years highlighted by the additions of Abby and Kate.
Liberty University's first match of the season will be this Friday (9/3) vs. Robert Morris!
