Olivia Anderson had a huge day for SFC propelling the Eagles to a 10 – 0 victory over Bishops. The Eagles entered the game having struggled over the past ten meetings with the Knights, going 1 and 9 across the recent years. That changed today as the Eagles jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in the game.
The Eagles opened the scoring in the first inning when Bryn Henson got a lead off single and was later brought home on Olivia Anderson's first hit of the day. Maddie Binnie drove in Anderson and the Eagles were up 2 – 0. The Eagles scored again in the third when Anderson picked up her first of three triples on the day. She was again driven in by Binnie.
The Eagles broke the game open in the fourth inning when they added six more runs to their total. Torin Bennett and Kayla Crecion opened the inning with singles. Kayla Emond advanced the runners with a perfect sacrifice bunt. Aspen Lee then got an infield single to load the bases. Bryn Henson singled home the first run of the inning. Maya Tyszkiewicz drove in Crecion, giving SFC a 5 – 0 lead. Anderson then stepped to the plate and delivered her second triple of the game picking up 3 RBIs. Hannah Muscat wrapped up the scoring with an RBI single bringing the Eagles total to six runs in the inning.
The Eagles wrapped up the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when Anderson picked up her third triple of the game and scored on a Torin Bennett single. Bennett’s hit was the thirteenth hit for the team. Anderson finished the day offensively with four hits in four at bats, had three triples, scored three runs, and had 4 RBI’s. Following her big day, Anderson is now batting .513 with a .535 on base percentage, leading the team in both categories. She now has seven triples in eleven games played. Bennett, Henson and Crecion all had two hit days as well.
Anderson also starred on the mound as she pitched a one hit shutout for her seventh win of the season. She struck out eleven of the twenty-one batters she faced in the game. Anderson’s ERA is now down to.81and she has seventy-seven strike outs to her credit on the season.
The Eagles, now 10 -0 - 1, take their unbeaten record to La Jolla Country Day tomorrow at 4 pm for a Coastal League match up. Come out and support the Eagles as they look to extend their win streak.
