Heading into the final week of the regular season, Sophomore Luke Bailey was trailing the league scoring leader by just .7 shots (average of scores for the year). On Monday 5/2 Bailey won the final Coastal league match by three strokes. With this performance, Bailey also won the Coastal League Player of the Year award, given to the lowest overall scorer of the season.
The Eagles have had a strong season thus far, both individually and as a team. Bailey (So.) earned player of the year honors and is ranked in the top 15 players in the county, Phoenix Rivera (Sr.) earned 1st-Team Coastal league honors and is also ranked in the top 30 players while his younger brother Priest (Fr.) earned 2nd-Team Coastal league honors and is ranked in the top 50 in the county.
Additionally, the varsity golf team is ranked #8 in the County. Next week they will begin CIF playoffs as they host San Diego Jewish Academy.
