On Thursday night the SFC Boys’ Lacrosse team beat La Jolla Country Day by a score of 10-2. The team is now 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the Coastal League.
The SFC defense had another stellar performance pitching a shutout in the first half and giving up just one goal in the 3rd period and one goal in the 4th period. The defense held La Jolla Country Day scoreless during two man-down opportunities. The team caused 6 turnovers with Brendon DeBont and Brett Koopman leading the way with each causing 2 turnovers. Nichola Kavanaugh and Aaron Bolt also caused turnovers. Sam Cooper saved 7 out of 9 shots on goal (78%).
On offense, Bobby Berg, Brendon DeBont and Brett Koopman led the way. Bobby scored 5 goals giving him 12 goals in two games this week. Bobby also had 1 assist for a total of 6 points. Brendon had 7 assists. Brett had 3 goals. Also scoring goals were Rylan Goodwin and Matthew Briggs.
Brett Koopman and DJ Tovtin both took faceoffs after Colton Lehberg went down with an injury. Brett won 7 out of 12 faceoffs (58%) and DJ won 2 out of 3 (67%). Way to go Brett and DJ.
