On Monday night the SFC Boys’ Lacrosse team beat Pacific Ridge by a score of 16-5. The team is now 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Coastal League.
SFC hit the gas pedal right at the start scoring 8 goals in the first quarter and 5 goals in the second quarter. The team lead 13-0 at the half. Bobby Berg scored 7 goals, with 6 of those goals coming in the first quarter. He also added an assist for a total of 8 points. Isaac Masumoto was on fire and scored 3 goals (a hat trick) for the Eagles. Colton Lehberg, Brendon DeBont and Trey Adcox each accounted for 5 points. Brendon and Trey each had 2 goals and 3 assists. Lehberg dished out 5 assists for his 5 points. Also scoring goals were Brett Koopman and Ryland Goodwin. Overall, the boys recorded 12 assists on 16 goals. Way to share the ball!
The Eagles’ defense was equally impressive. They only allowed Pacific Ridge in the defensive end of the field a handful of times in the first half and Pacific Ridge only got off 2 shots in the first half. Six different Eagles caused turnovers with Brendon DeBont and Brett Koopman leading the way with 3 caused turnovers each. Also causing turnovers were Evan Bennett, Bobby Berg, Trey Adcox and DJ Tovtin. Twelve different Eagles picked up a ground ball during the course of the game.
The Eagles’ next game is Thursday, May 6th at La Jolla Country Day. SFC won the prior meeting by a score of 8-5, but were missing Bobby Berg and Brett Koopman. If you are in the neighborhood, please stop by to cheer on the team. Go Eagles!
