The Santa Fe Christian Boys’ Lacrosse team beat a tough La Jolla Country Day team on Monday evening at home by a score of 8-5. Your Eagles are now 3-1 for the season. A great start. Keep it going boys!
Brendon DeBont led all scorers with 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points. Rylan Goodwin and Colton Lehberg each added 2 goals to round out the scoring for the Eagles.
The defense delivered another strong performance giving up only 5 goals and causing 5 turnovers. Evan Bennett picked up a number of key ground balls. DJ Tovtin and Joey Olmore were constantly harassing La Jolla Country Day. Nicholas Kavanagh also caused 2 turnovers.
Trey Adcox single handedly took on 5 defenders to successfully clear the ball at a critical point in the game. I think the La Jolla Country Day players are still shaking their heads trying to figure out how Trey did it. He will hereafter be known as “The Magician.”
Sam Cooper faced 15 shots on goal and saved 10. Colton Lehberg dominated the face-off X.
The Eagles’ next game is Thursday, April 22nd vs. Coastal League rival Bishops. Bishops recently beat La Jolla High School by score of 15-1. The game is at 5:00 at Bishops. Come out to cheer on the team. Go Eagles.
