Our Santa Fe Christian Men’s Lacrosse team beat the Carlsbad Lancers on Friday night at Carlsbad by a score of 14-6 in a very physical game. With the victory, the Eagles are now 5-2 on the season logging 3 consecutive wins. Way to go Eagles.
SFC took command of the game in the 2nd quarter scoring 7 goals in the period or about 1 goal every 105 seconds. The defense was tough all night holding the Lancers to 1 goal in each of the first and second quarters and 2 goals in each of the 3rd and 4th quarters. It was a physical battle all night with each team recording 6 penalties. The boys were “getting after it” as they say.
On defense, Aaron Bolt (Junior) had a team leading two caused turnovers. Aaron played some awesome defense in the game. Also causing turnovers where Brendon De Bont (Senior), Bert Carnes (Senior), DJ Tovtin (Senior), Trey Adcox (Sophomore), and Bobby Berg (Senior).
SFC outshot Carlsbad 44-18 and the Eagles won the shots on goal battle with 29 shots on goal to only 12 by the Lancers. Colton Lehberg (Senior) lead the team with 5 goals. Bobby Berg and Brendon De Bont each had 4 goals and 2 assists (6 points). Rounding out the scoring for SFC were Rylan Goodwin (Senior) with a goal and 2 assists (3 points) and Parker Guiltinan (Freshman) who had an assist.
Colton Lehberg won 22 of 23 faceoffs to give the Eagles extra possessions.
The next game for the Eagles is Wednesday against the Curtis Senior High School Vikings from University Place, Washington.
