The weather has just not given the Santa Fe Christian Golf Program any breaks so far this season. The Eagles were back out again in the rain taking on Classical Academy in a Coastal League match, that saw some of the best players in the league battle each other, the course at Lomas Santa Fe, and the elements. Teeing off in a decent rain, the boys had their umbrellas out to try to stay dry. After a few holes, rain changed to wind, and the course played very long with the soggy ground. And for the last 3 holes, the sun came out (but not soon enough.)
No one on the team had their best day, but no one had a bad day either. SFC was led on the day again by Junior Luke Bailey carding a 39 (+3) and Freshman Gavin Bostrom with a 41 (+5). Senior Charlie Hayes StClair and Freshman Maddox Ott both rolled in a 42 (+6), and Junior Connor Melehan rounded out the scores with a 44 (+8). Those added up to a team score of 208, which wasn't enough to take down Classical, posting a solid team score of 193.
The Eagles head out for the Champions Invitational in Palm Springs next week where they will play again 45 other top Golf Programs in the West.
