The Lady Eagles Water Polo Team travelled up to Orange County to compete in the Diamond Bar Classic. The team came away with the tournament Championship trophy winning the Platinum Division. The team won four games over two days.
Game one was a tough victory over Buena Park in their home pool by a score of 12-8. Kylie Kennard led the Eagles scoring with four goals. Other scorers in the game were Revere Schmidt (2), Mylin Bennett (2), Freshman Torin Bennett (2) Kaia Roede (1) and Morgan Day (1). Charlotte Adams was solid in goal with 11 saves.
Game two was win by a score of 13-11 against a very tough and fast team, John Burroughs from Burbank. Leading the way in this game was Revere Schmidt with seven goals and Mylin Bennett with four. Also adding goals was Kylie Kennard and Torin Bennett. Morgan Day made three assists and Megan Clardy added two assists. Charlotte Adams made an incredible 16 saves in goal in this fast paced game.
The Semifinal game was 12-9 win against a strong team from Cypress HS. Revere Schmidt led the Eagles with five goals and Mylin Bennett had three. Scoring goals for the Eagles was Torin Bennett (2), Morgan Day and Megan Clardy. Charlotte Adams made eight saves to secure the win. Julia Wallace played great defense at the guard position all weekend.
The championship game was a 12-7 victory over Brea Olinda HS. Leading the scoring was Mylin Bennett with seven goals and Revere Schmidt with two goals. Also scoring for the Eagles was Kylie Kennard, Rylee Olson and Torin Bennett. Playing great in goal was Charlotte Adams, making seven saves to secure the win.
The teams heads into the heart of its league schedule this coming week with game vs Patrick Henry, Clairemont and Senior Night on Saturday at home at 4:30 vs Scripps Ranch.
