More Growth is in store for SFC Mens lacrosse program. After a successful first year at Head Coach, Dan Carson has accepted the head coaching role at Messiah University and now realizes the benefits of being close to family who live on the east coast. "Dan is truly family, even though he was here for a short time. He will be missed on the field, in the classroom and in the surf", quotes SFC AD, Doug Miller. Doug goes on to say, "The good news is that Dan had some amazing assistants, specifically Dan's defensive lead, Tomas Rodriguez is a absolute rock star. We are so blessed to have Tomas take the reigns and continue to build on what Dan started 13 months ago.
Some details about the new SFC head coach, Tomas Rodriguez:
-Moved to San Diego in September of 2019
-Played Division 1 Lacrosse at the University of Maryland Baltimore County
-Transferred to Division 2 Pace University in New York Junior year and played Lacrosse
-Member of the 2018 Puerto Rican Men’s National team where we competed in Netanya, Israel
-Director for Mad Dog Lacrosse San Diego
-Assistant coach at Cathedral Catholic in 2020
-Assistant coach at Santa Fe Christian in 2021
-16 years of playing experience
-7 years of coaching experience
When asked about the opportunity in front of him as the head coach for SFC, Tomas replied, "I am blessed to be named the Head Coach of the Santa Fe Christian Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team. The community at SFC is truly amazing. I look forward to building up the Lacrosse program that has already established itself as one of the top programs in San Diego! SFC is genuinely one of a kind in so many ways and I can't wait to get started with the boys!"
