On January 14th SFC hosted the Saturday games of the MLK Girls High School Basketball Tournament. Top teams from all over San Diego and Imperial County came to compete in the SFC Gym. It was non stop basketball action all day long with the final game featuring West View High (#8 in all of CA) who defeated Mater Dei (#9 in all of CA).

The day was a big success with players, coaches, fans and college scouts all enjoying the SFC facilities and the excellent play out on the court.

The Lady Eagles battled against Rancho Buena Vista and came up short with a final score of 46 to 61. Alesea Hanyes had a standout performance. Her tough defense led to numerous steal and she was on target from behind the arc sinking a season high five 3 pointers.

The tournament finishes on Monday at Mt Miguel High School where the SFC Eagles will takes on La Jolla High at 2:00.
