The SFC Girls Golf team completed another great year under head coach John Salyer. The Lady Eagles finished this year with an impressive record of 8-2. There were many highlights from this season including a hole-in-one by Sarah Osburn along with a tie for the Coastal League Championship. Freshman Katie Kim was one of the Eagles top performers all year long, during a conference match vs. Coastal League rival LJCD Katie led the team to victory by posting a score of 33 through 9 holes!
Even though the Eagles did not advance to the playoffs as a team, Katie Kim became the first SFC individual in school history to qualify for the CIF Championship Tournament.
The two day tournament hosted the top 110 lady golfers in San Diego County in which SFC’s own Katie Kim finished in 61st place. During the first round on June 1st at the Oceanside Golf Course, Katie posted a respectable score of +17 followed by a second round score of +17 at Omni La Costa. Through 36 holes Katie finished at 34 over par, a very respectable performance and a great season for the freshman with a bright future ahead of her!
Go Eagles!
