A SFC tradition that started 20 years ago with then Head Football Coach Brian Sipe took place on Saturday. The internal scrimmage now known as the "Snicker Bowl" (winning team gets a Snicker's bar) was a big hit for both football and cheer teams alike. The purpose of a typical scrimmage to see how players perform in a real game time setting. The same goal was in place for Cheer Head Coach Katrina Calvert and her squad. Both football and cheer programs showcased their talents for fans in Beauchamp Stadium. Freshman, JV and Varsity teams all got reps so that the coaches could asscess the team's talent heading into the 2022/23 school year.
The most unique thing about the Snicker's Bowl is that both the football team and cheer teams are encouraged to have a unique flare about their uniform. Yes, some football players wore tu-tus and ski goggles during the game. Football players are even encouraged to have "excessive celebrations" after scoring points, which is definately counter to SFC program norms.
Fans were truly entertained by the great performaces from our student athletes, and equally entertained by their amazing costumes.
This school year is going to be special in so many ways.
GO EAGLES!
