What a glorious Saturday of racing this last weekend! Our SFC Swim team competed twice in one day this last Saturday. In the AM, our Eagles swam in the Granite Hills Invite and in the PM our team raced Oceanside High School in a dual meet.
As for how the races went, we had season best and career best times at the Granite Hills Invitational and in the dual meet versus Oceanside!
Quick overview of the Granite Hills Invite:
- Girls 200 MR (Mylin, Revere, Gisele, Morgan) placed 10th and earned the CIF Automatic cut in a time 0.01 faster than our CIF Championships relay in 2021!
- Connor Leonard split 28.98 50 free in the 200 MR and dropped his best 100 free by 2 seconds.
- Morgan Day slaughtered her lifetime best 200 free and narrowly missed the CIF Consideration cut by less than 3 seconds in 2:17! She swam PRs in all events at GHs!
- Revere Schmidt placed 4th in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 500 free in her fastest non-championship times to date!
- Mylin Bennett placed 8th in the 50 free and 13th in the 100 in solid times after a few days out sick!
- Max Pagon was 6th in the 50, earning the CIF Automatic cut, and 3rd in the 100 free, a 2 second drop, just missing the Auto cut by 0.01!
- Willem Prins swam his lifetime best 100 free by 2 seconds (1:01) and split 26.76 in the 200 FR!
- Ian Arnold placed 15th in his events, dropping 2 seconds in the 100 free and 1 second in the 100 back!
- Gisele Patron had time improvements in both of her events - 200 IM and 100 Fly. A freshman, she placed 16th in the 100 fly!
- Girls 200 FR (Morgan, Gisele, Mylin, Revere) placed 8th, missing the CIF Auto cut by 0.45!
- Both boys' relays dropped significant time in their efforts to earn the CIF Auto cut!
Quick overview of the Oceanside dual meet:
- Megan Clardy dropped a second from her 200 free at Granite Hills, a double effort for the day!
- Grace Chrisopoulos took off 2 seconds from her 100 back, just 2 seconds from the CIF Consideration cut!
- Kelly Dykes shaved 2 seconds off her 200 IM!
- Amy Wolter dropped 1 second off her 100 breast and swam her last lap of freestyle with her cap in her hand!
- Julia Wallace battled losing her goggles on the dive to bring in solid swims in the freestyle events!
- Katie Powell had 2 consistent freestyle races, I think without her goggles in at least one of them!
Swim Teams's next race is at El Camino March 30th @ 3:30pm
We are so proud of our SFC Athletes!
