LETS GO!! Women’s Water Polo is on their way to CIF Championship game!
Our Lady Eagles went to La Jolla to play the CIF Semi-Final game against San Ysidro and played its most complete all-around game to shut down the Cougars by 11-2.
The team was led by Revere Schmidt with five goals, winning all four sprints while adding three steals and a field block on defense. Mylin Bennett scored two goals with four assists while leading the defense with five steals. Gisselle Fenby scored two goals, including an early five-meter shot, and also had two assists and two steals. Kylie Kennard played strong in the set position scoring a goal and drawing two ejections. Senior Ryan Rodriguez also scored a goal while drawing an ejection and adding a steal. The defense was strong all night with two steals each coming from Aliyah Larson and Morgan Day. The defensive press by the Eagles kept the Cougars from threatening most of the night. Strong defense was also provided by Sofia Gonzalez, Kaia Roede, Megan Clardy and Niyah Pistone. The goalie play for the Eagles was strong with Charlotte Adams making three saves. Annie Marx also added two saves to seal the win.
The CIF Championship with a game against top seed Monte Vista of Spring Valley. The game is on Saturday, Feb 22nd at 11:00 am at the La Jolla Coggan Aquatic Center. LETS SHOW UP LOUD & PROUD!
