Our Lady Eagles traveled to neighbor San Dieguito Academy today for their 3rd match of the season. While the team worked hard in the heat, they came up short with a 6-12 loss.
Sophomores Mila Sonkin and Kayla Crecion kept everyone on the edge of their seat with one of the toughest and longest matches to date - with play extending over an hour! This incredible pair battled the court in an extended tie-breaker to bring home the win for SFC at 7-6. Sonkin & Crecion continued their winning magic by taking the next match 6-2.
For the Singles matches, Freshman Catherine Bailey finished 2-1 with impressive 6-0 and 6-1 wins over her SDA opponents. And Sophomore Kalia Schemp also triumphed 2-1 in her Singles Matches with a 6-3 win and a heart-stopping 7-5 victory against strong SDA players.
Match play continues on Thursday, Sept 8th as SFC Women's Tennis gears up for court time against Francis Parker.
