The SFC Varsity Men's Water Polo team came together tonight for their first game of the season playing against the Pacific Ridge Firebirds, losing the game by a score of 15-11.
Sophomore Mitchell Bailey led the team in goals scoring 4 goals and 1 assist. Junior Henry Maas and Sophomore Colby Rosetti each posted 3 goals to the tally while Senior Ryan Harrisson added one goal for the Eagles. Newcomer Sophomore Ben Dykes hit the board with one assist.
Goalie Senior Tre Grove played strong in the net with 9 saves against a tough shooting Pacific Ridge offense.
While the season opener didn't get the win, Coach Bennett is feeling positive that the team will pull it together to strengthen and improve as the season continues. This year’s Eagles squad has ten new players that are new to water polo.
The Eagles will play next against San Marcos High School, Thursday, August 31st at 6pm at Palomar College. JV Team will play immediately after the Varsity Team at 7:00pm.
