Lady Eagles Fly High with 11-7 Win Over Classical Academy
Women's Varsity Tennis remains undefeated in Pacific League play by taking the Classical Academy Caimans with a final score of 11-7.
The Singles players came on strong as Senior Reagan Coyle took the hat-trick with 3 wins of 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2. Junior Kalia Schempp dominated with 6-0 and 6-2 victories while Sophomore Catherine Bailey clinched the final Singles win at 6-2 over her Classical Opponent.
The Doubles teams also came to play starting with Junior Olivia Grimstad and Junior Kayla Crecion battling for the win in a 7-6 tiebreaker. Then Grimstad paired up with Senior Taylor Hofmeister for a 6-2 win. Freshman Peyton McKenna and Freshman Breezy Frederick worked solid together adding 2 wins to the board of 6-3, 6-3 while Junior Mila Sonkin and Freshman Abby Scheier brought home a big win in a 7-6 tiebreaker match.
The Lady Eagles now stand at 5-0 in the Pacific League. The team has just 5 League matches left to play!
GOLDEN EAGLE AWARD - Senior Taylor Hofmeister and Freshman Breezy Frederick were honored with the "Golden Eagle Award" for today's match. Both girls played strong and stayed positive throughout the day. Congratulations Taylor and Breezy!
About the "Golden Eagle Award" - Each match, Coach RIck and Coach Tricia will determine which player or players should be given the "Golden Eagle Award". The Award represents the athlete(s) who gave an outstanding effort and displayed an outstanding attitude for the match.
