The SFC Varsity Softball team posted an opening day shut out win over Liberty Charter by a score of 10 - 0. The great start to the 2024 season was a full team effort.
Torin Bennett had a sensational start to her season driving in five runs on three hits. Torin had two doubles and a single in her three plate appearances. Maddie Binnie also had a three hit perfromance as the team piled up a 15 hits in the game. Kayla Emond, Olivia Anderson and Maya Tyszkiewicz all contributed two hits to the offensive output. Emond also had two of the Eagles four steals as they ran the bases aggressively.
In addition to her strong offensive day, Torin also pitched a complete game shut out. She was dominant on the mound giving up only one hit while striking out nine Lions on the way to the win. Leah Urias took the loss for the Lions giving up 10 runs (7 earned) in four and a third innings of work.
