SFC Women's Varsity Tennis met up today in a non-league match against the La Jolla Country Day Torrey Pines. The girls worked hard and stayed positive but came up short with a 4-13 loss.
Sophomore Catherine Bailey put two wins up for SFC with scores of 6-4 and 6-0 while the new duo of Senior Reagan Coyle and Junior Olivia Grimstad brought 2 wins to the score by winning in two different tiebreaker matches, scoring 7-5 and 7-5.
GOLDEN EAGLE AWARD - The "Golden Eagle Award" was given today to Sophomore Catherine Bailey, Junior Mila Sonkin and Freshman Abbey Schneier. All 3 girls played strong today with happy, positive attitudes. They were encouraging to their teammates and respectful towards their opponents. Congratulations to all three of these Lady Eagles!
About the "Golden Eagle Award" - Each match, Coach Chuck, Coach RIck and Coach Tricia will determine which player or players (for a doubles team) should be given the "Golden Eagle Award". The Award represents the athlete(s) who gave an outstanding effort and displayed an outstanding attitude for the match.
