The Lady Eagles played strong against the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions in league match-play capturing the win at 12-6.
Taking the lead for the Lady Eagles was the dynamic duo of Junior Mila Sonkin and Freshman Abby Schneier taking the victory in all 3 of their matches, 6-4, 6-0 and 6-0. The Doubles teams continued the wins with Freshman Breezy Frederick and Freshman Peyton McKenna grabbing a 6-2 win while McKenna then paired up with Freshman Emi Tedesco to add another win with a 6-0 match. Junior Olivia Grimstad and Junior Kayla Crecion worked strong together to bring in a 6-1 win and then Grimstad then came together with Junior Andrea Alessio for a 6-1 win.
The Singles players each stayed focused on bringing victories to the Lady Eagles. Senior Reagan Coyle had 2 wins at 6-0 and 6-3 while Sophomore Catherine Bailey played strong taking a 6-1 win and then battling through a tiebreaker for the 7-5 victory. Junior Kalia Schempp added a win to the tally with a 6-2 score over her Lion opponent
Golden Eagle Awards were given to Freshman Peyton McKenna, Freshman Abby Schneier and Junior Mila Sonkin. Each girl went above and beyond supporting their teammates. And in their tennis play, McKenna showed no fear in her matches - playing ferocious at the net while Schneier and Sonkin were just powerful and dominant coming together as our leading Doubles team!
