The Lady Eagles brought home the W with a huge 15-3 win over Tri-City Christian in their first League match of the season!
The Doubles Teams completely trounced every one of their Tri-City opponents winning every Doubles match! Junior Mila Sonkin and Freshman Abby Schneier dominated with 3 wins of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0. Freshman Breezy Frederick and Freshman Peyton McKenna claimed 2 wins for the Eagles of 6-2, 6-1 and Frederick then continued in her 3rd match with new partner Senior Taylor Hofmeister to take the final win at 6-0. Junior Olivia Grimstad and Junior Kayla Crecion claimed two decisive wins of 6-0 and 6-1 and then Grimstad continued on for the final match with Junior Andrea Alessio to take the last victory at 6-2.
Meanwhile the Singles players stayed competitive with Senior Reagan Coyle taking 2 wins at 6-1 and 6-0. Junior Kalia Schempp played strong with 2 wins of 6-0 and 6-0 and Sophomore Catherine Bailey completed the Singles winnings by taking her 2 Tri-City opponents, 6-0 and 6-0.
GOLDEN EAGLE AWARD - Senior Taylor Hofmeister earned the "Golden Eagle Award" as she grabbed her first win for SFC in official play, Hofmeister continues to show over-the-top support to all of her teammates and it is her positive can-do attitude that is readily seen in her beautiful smile! We love you Taylor!!
About the "Golden Eagle Award" - Each match, Coach Chuck, Coach RIck and Coach Tricia will determine which player or players (for a doubles team) should be given the "Golden Eagle Award". The Award represents the athlete(s) who gave an outstanding effort and displayed an outstanding attitude for the match.
